A former Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Brogya Genfi has called for the immediate prosecution of Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong for aiding and abetting the death of a partner of Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
Two unknown men allegedly shot the associate of the private investigative firm, Tiger Eye PI, while he was driving near the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madina Estate, in the Greater Accra region.
When a police patrol team went to the scene they found Ahmed in a BMW saloon car with registration number AS 1928-Q with bullet wounds on him.
The maverick politician has since been fingered as the prime suspect in the murder which has attracted condemnation from the International Community.
Speaking on UTV on Saturday as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com, Brogya Genfi insisted that it is important Ken Agyapong is prosecuted because he knows something about the murder.
“He (Ken Agyapong) helped in the killing of the man (Ahmed) by exposing his identity so he should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting crime…he has brought shame unto Ghana…,” he argued.
Brogya Genfi further asked President Akufo-Addo to immediately order the repatriation of Ken Agyapong from China to come and face prosecution.
“I insist that if President Akufo-Addo wants us to know that he is indeed serious about the fight against corruption, he should immediately order the repatriation of Ken Agyapong from China…,” he added.
Meanwhile, a Congressman in the US has petitioned congress to impose a travel ban on Ken Agyapong for similar reasons.
