Professor Nana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Criticizes President Akufo-Addo’s Approach to Non-Supporters

Professor Nana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has expressed disapproval of President Akufo-Addo’s neglect of those who didn’t support him and his party, urging him to address the issue differently.

Taking to social media, the former Education Minister and 2020 running mate of John Mahama urged the President to take a different approach, recalling similar instances where he responded to concerns in the Volta Region about incomplete education projects.

Highlighting the President’s interaction with Torgbui Adzonu-Gaga Amenya Fiti V, the Paramount Chief from Aflao, she emphasized the need for proactive measures to avoid unnecessary stress related to uncompleted e-blocks.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also pointed out grievances from the traditionally NP stronghold, the Ashanti Region, questioning why a region that consistently supports the party feels neglected.

This criticism follows the President’s admission of intentionally neglecting the people of Ekumfi due to their choice of voting out the NPP MP in 2020. Prior to that, he had stated that voting wasn’t a factor in assisting electorates in the Volta Region, specifically referring to the people of Mepe affected by the spillage of the Akosombo and Kong dams.
