President Mahama optimistic of making Ghana power hub of West Africa

President John Mahama has restated his vision of making Ghana the power hub of West Africa.

He said government has in this regard spearheaded several initiatives geared towards improving energy generation.

President Mahama said this at the inauguration of the first unit of the Sunon Asogli Power Project Phase two at Kpone near Tema.

He said the completion of the phase will see the addition of three hundred and 60 megawatts of gas fired power to the national grid.

The President was hopeful that generation of gas from the Western Region to the power enclave near Tema will be accelerated so that the excess gas can fuel plants like Sunon Asogli .
