President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated a water project at Kpando in the Volta Region with an assurance that the rural areas will continue to benefit from projects that will improve their lives.
The facility will provide about 1.5 million gallons of water daily which far exceeds the current daily supply of 130,000 gallons of water to the people in the area.
The Project expansion is expected to serve the growing population of the Municipality and its environs.
The project, which started in February 2011 with funding from the World Bank and the Netherland government has been completed.
It is expected to ensure the delivery of potable water to residents of the Kpando municipality, as well as two neighboring districts of Biakoye and North Dayi.
President Mahama said water is a necessity of life, for which reason the government would ensure that every community got potable water.
