President John Mahama has inaugurated Ghana’s first Presidential Library in Cape Coast.
Christened the John Evans Atta Mills Library, the facility which will be managed by the University of Cape Coast will serve as a Research Centre for academic purposes.
Eulogising the late President, President Mahama described him as a loyal and receptive person who was open to all ideas.
He noted that the Library will advance the nation’s intellectual capacity and help reduce poverty.
The Omanhen of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta described the initiative as a novelty.
This is because it will not only complement the effort being made to improve education, but also enhance its profile.
Osabarima Kwesi Atta thanked government for establishing the facility in Cape Coast which is considered as the citadel of education in Ghana.
