President Mahama Inaugurates Adugyama Community Day SHS

A new Community Day Senior High School for Adugyaman in the Ahafo Ano South district of the Ashanti region has been inaugurated.

What makes this facility unique is the fact that it is the first of the 23 community day senior high schools to be funded by the World Bank and it comes with extra facilities like headteacher’s bungalow, teachers flat and a canteen.

Inaugurating the facility as part of his accounting to the people tour of the Ashanti region President Mahama, charged traditional rulers to take keen interest in the running of the schools to enable it serve the purpose. Early on President Mahama, had inaugurated another community day senior high school at Adobewura.

Radio Ghana’s Pascaline Adadevoh reports that twenty-three out of the 123 community day senior high schools being built will be funded by a World Bank facility for what is known as the Ghana education improvement program.

The facility does not only cover the building of the schools but comes with scholarship for needy girls and distribution of educational materials to students. Six thousand girls are to benefit from the scholarship package.

The new community day school for the people of Adugyaman known as the Dwinnyama community SHS is the first under the World Bank facility.
It is a beautiful edifice fenced and gated.

President Mahama, was happy that the World Bank facility which was highly condemned by the minority in parliament and a cross section of the public has yielded positive results.

President Mahama, presented a sixty seater bus to the school as well as a pick-up truck for the schools administration. Later President Mahama, interacted with the Chiefs and people of Offinso.

Offinso has had its fair share of developments particularly in the road sector.

Government as part of its transformational agenda is embarking on massive rehabilitation of the country’s road networks since it recognises roads as conduit to improving livelihoods.

The Offinso Township has about ten kilometers of road asphalted. The chief of offinso Nana Wiafe Akenten, could not hide his joy.

He said offinso man will also remain grateful to government. There are other things Nana Wiafe Akenten, wants President Mahama to pay attention to.

President Mahama, said he used his first term to lay a firm foundation for better things to take off. He also had good news for the people of offinso

The President ends his three day tour of the Ashanti region with a number of activities including a ground breaking ceremony for a stadium for new Edubiase.

This is a key manifesto promise.
