President inaugurates 250-bed dormitory for Fumbisi SHS

President John Mahama, has inaugurated a 250 bed Boys Dormitory for the Fumbisi Agriculture SHS in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region.

Other ongoing projects in the school include an Administration and ICT block, Dining hall and kitchen complex, teachers quarters and an additional boys and girls dormitories.

President Mahama, assured the students that all the projects will be completed by the next academic term.

The unique thing about the school is that the girls out-number the boys.

President Mahama, said government considers girls education as very important and urged the girls to aspire to higher heights.

Being an Agriculture School, the headmaster appealed to government to provide the school with a tractor to help the students cultivate the school farm.

President Mahama, assured the headmaster that he will direct the Food and Agriculture Minister to immediately deploy a tractor to the school.

The Fumbisi SHS has also received a new Toyota Hillux pick-up from the government.

Meanwhile President Mahama, says he considers the Builsa South area as the bread basket of the country and will prioritise Agriculture in the area.

The President stated this when he inspected a newly built warehouse for the area. The warehouse is to help farmers to keep their produce to prevent post-harvest loses.

About fifty farmer service centres are to be built across the Savannah areas. The service centres are to provide mechanization services to farmers.
