PAUL ADOM-OTCHERE, CONFIRMED ON HIS SHOW THAT JOHN MAHAMA IS PEERLESS, UNRIVALLED AND THE BEST FOR GHANA- HERIOC RECEPTION FOR JOHN MAHAMA ACROSS THE COUNTRY CONFIRMS PAUL’S ASSERTION

Paul Adom-Otchere, the host of ‘Goodevening Ghana’ who was one of the ardent critics of the Mahama administration, has described the former President as matchless, peerless and the best candidate for the NDC in the 2020 election. I am still struggling to understand why he and his producers decided to focus on the man he ruthlessly attacked when he was in power. I am not a fan of his programme because of the biases he openly display on his show and attempts by him to distort documented historical facts to decorate the ugliness of the tradition he has allied himself to. This time Paul could not achieve his target because of the personality he discussed on his show. Like he accurately stated in his intro, John Mahama is peerless, an achiever who is beyond comparison when it comes to our politics in Ghana today. May be, he was on “Head clashing” agenda just to divert attention from this government’s abysmal performance. If that was his agenda, then he failed and failed abysmally. But let me shift from the sidelines and focus more on the core issues he raised on his programme, vis-a-vis what we witnessing across the country with regard to how Ghanaians today, see the man the rejected few months ago. Paul is one of the journalists I admire so much despite his biases and pray, he get out of the shackles he has wrongly placed himself. These are the few points he raised about John Mahama relative to the 2020 Presidential candidate contest (NDC)

a) he told his viewers that any person who emerges as the Presidential candidate of the NDC will campaign on the legacies of John Mahama. According to Paul, because of his achievements across the country which are going to be the pillars upon which the NDC campaign will stand, the party must allow John Mahama to lead the Party if he decides to contest to enable him trumpet his own achievements. He said, none of the potential candidates can tell the story better than John Mahama himself.

One of the key differences that sets Mahama from his successor is his focus on the welfare of the masses. Mahama is undoubtedly the darling of NDC supporters and Ghanaians who have been disappointed by the current administration.

WHY THE HEROIC RECEPTION IN ALL THE REGIONS?

Like Paul rightly pointed out in his show, the man’s achievements are visible to see and going to make the 2020 campaign easy for the NDC especially if he leads the party. His projects are scattered across the country. If lands in the Ashanti Region, the people in the region will always accord him that love because of his projects including

-Kumasi Shoe Factory

-Kejetia market

-Fomena District Hospital

-Kumasi military hospital

-renovated Kumasi airport

-Kumawu district hospital

-Bekwai hospital

-Okomfo Anokye Eye care centre

-the many community day secondary schools

-the asphalted roads

-the markets etc etc.

When he lands in the Western Region, the Chiefs and people will accord him same herioc reception because of projects he scattered in the region including

-Atuabo gas

-the chip compounds

-His investment in the oil and gas sectors

-His free fertilizer and cocoa seedlings policy

-the Juaboso- Dadieso rural roads

-Tarkwa -Axim – Elubo road

-Daboase -Atieku road

-Edwenase -Atobiase road

-the 94km Tarkwa -Bogoso Ayamfuri road

-the 52km Ayamfuri -Asawinso road

– the community day secondary schools

– the district hospitals

-the cold stores for the Fisher folks etc etc

Any candidate who campaigns in the central region, will have it easy because of the following projects

-The beautiful Cape Coast stadium

-the Komenda sugar factory

-the fish processing factory (Winniba)

– the countless community day secondary schools

– the Kasoa interchange

– the asphalted Cape Coast- Dunkwa-Saltpond- Mankesim road

– the Mankesim -Abora Dunkwa road

-Assin-Nyarkrom road

In the Party’s stronghold the Volta Region, whoever campaigns in the region on the ticket of the NDC point at

-Kpando town roads etc etc

I will touch on the other regions in my subsequent writeup. Ghanaians are witnesses to these laudable achievements, they see them daily in their communities and are going to base their judgement in 2020 based on what they see around them vis-a-vis performance of the Akufo-Addo administration.
