Parliament approves €72.8m for Kumasi Airport development

Parliament has approved two financial agreements totalling 72.8 million Euros for the development of the Kumasi International Airport.

The facilities are between government and Banco Santander S.A. and its affiliates.

Government says, it intends to make Kumasi an alternative aviation centre in the country.

The majority Leader, Alban Bagbin says the expansion will give Kumasi its deserved glory and boost the export of agro products.

The Minority while seconding the construction of more international airports in the country said the information furnished the house as to the details of the contract raises eyebrows.
