Onsy Nkrumah proposed to me – Samia

Samia Nkrumah, the daughter of Ghana’s first president has described as a “fraudster” a man alleging to be her brother.

According to her, Onsy Nkrumah, the man parading himself as their sibling proposed to marry her years ago.

“How can someone claiming to be my brother propose love to me some years ago?” she quizzed.

A livid Samia Nkrumah who revealed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday is convinced Onsy has a sinister agenda.

“This Onsy thing is part of a political project to destabilise Nkrumah’s legacy,” she fumed.

The paternity of Onsy Nkrumah was proven by Mrs. Souad Mohammed El Rouby Sinare, an Egyptian and close associate of the Nkrumah family.

She explained that prior to Dr. Nkumah’s marriage to Fathia, he had an affair with an Egyptian woman called Isis Nashid with whom he gave birth to Onsy but kept it a secret due to his [Nkrumah’s] relationship with the colonial masters.

But Samia Nkrumah insisted that the narration by the Egyptian woman is concocted to tarnish the hard won reputation of the Nkrumah family.

She stated that Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah would never have denied Onsy if his mother had brought him to Ghana.

“I know this man in London as an ordinary man but all of a sudden, he comes to Ghana to say he is Nkrumah’s son. He should prove it and we will accept him,” she added.

Samia Nkrumah called on the general public to ignore attention seeking Onsy and treat all his issues with the contempt it deserves.
