NPP to amend constitution to make flagbearer leader of party

The New Patriotic Party is proposing an amendment to its constitution to make the flagbearer or president the leader of the party.
The party’s current constitution makes the national chairman the leader of the party in or out of government.

But with the troubles that rocked the party in the run-up to the 2016 election, the party is taking this radical decision to make the flagbearer or president its leader.

This proposal is among several other proposals the partying will be putting to the its delegates today Saturday August 26, 2017.

Another critical amendment is to prevent party officers in the constituency from contesting for parliament on the party’s ticket.
