The all-die-be-die agenda of the New Patriotic Party seem to have taken a different turn in Asunafo North Constituency in the Brong Ahafo region as the parliamentary candidate, Evans Opoku Bobie has threatened to acid bath the vociferous and outspoken youth organizer of the NDC, Edem Koku Edem who has been a threat to the chances of the NPP in the constituency.
The recent limited registration has the NDC refusing the intimidation from the NPP machoes. The youth organizer has a strong influence over the youth who form a core of the voting population and in order to cow him with fear have met.
This threat was made when the NPP met to access their chances of winning the December 7 general elections because of the youthful voters, the NDC is attracting. During the meeting, it was revealed how impossible the NPP would have winning because of the numerous infrastructural development the municipality have had under President John Dramani Mahama and Alhaji Mohammed Doku, the Parliamentary candidate.
Edem Koku Edem revealed he has had wind of that plot and is unperturbed because ‘the desperate Evans Opoku Bobie, ever since his presence in the political scene, has always promoted violence. How can you call a member of parliament who happens to be an NPP man a murderer just because you were contesting him during your primaries? Violence that not win elections and gagging peoples movement will not guarantee victory. We the youth are poised to giving President John Dramani Mahama a gift of appreciation come December 7. The popularity of Alhaji Mohammed Doku (ADWUMAWURA) has dazed him in his face’
During a political talk show on Nananom FM 92.5, Thursday 28th April, 2016, ghanapoliticsonline.com can confirm that the violence being preached by the NPP took a different dimension when a panel member, Francis Nimpong aka Cashier of the turned the studio into a boxing ring. It took the intervention of staffs of Nananom from physically assaulting the youth organizer of the NDC, Edem Koku Edem.
Will there be another acid bath in Ghana’s political space? Will Evans Opoku Bobie carry out the threat?
More to come.
