NPP ‘lied’ to vigilante groups – Minister

The ruling Patriotic Party (NPP) in opposition ill-informed supporters about employment opportunities especially recruiting them into the security agencies, NPP lawmaker for Nkranza North and Deputy Minister of Defense, Major (Rtd) Derek Oduro said.

He believes it is for this reason they have resorted to piling undue pressure on the government to get them jobs or the embark on violent protestations.

“I am of the opinion that our foot soldiers were misinformed about decisions that happen in government before one is employed”.

According to the Deputy Minister, the leadership of the party is failing to tell the teeming supporters of the party to understand it is not everyone who will get a job under the current government.

“Employment is not for party members alone. …it is for the whole nation”, the lawmaker pointed out when commenting on the party’s vigilante group Invincible Forces threats to lock up offices of state institutions

“If they were conscientize then they will begin to appreciate that it is not one day that everybody will get employment”, he stated on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM morning show.

Members of NPP vigilante groups; Invincible Force and Delta Forces have vowed to cause mayhem if the government does not absorb them into the various security agencies.

But the Deputy Defense Minister warned them against their threats indicating they will be crushed by the state security.

“They should not try at all because personnel are always standby to deal with any group who intends to go contrary to what the law says”, Hon. Derek Oduro dared.
