NEW BREED WOMEN-GHANA DONATES TO FEMALE INMATES

A women group by name New Breed Women-Ghana a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) aimed at empowering women and encouraging women to be actively involved in decision-making process, on Sunday 26th June, 2016 visited and made donations to female inmates of the Nsawam Prison in the Easter Region.

The visit and donation was part of activities marked by the group to reach out to the vulnerable in society to help bring meaning to life to those who seem neglected.

Items donated to the female inmates include cooked meals, drinks, provisions, water, tin tomatoes, toiletries,Sanitary pads and rice.

The items were presented on behalf of the group by the Public Relations Officer Miss Queen Gifty Bia Asare and was received by ASP Juliana Oye Appiah, an officer of the female prisons.

ASP Juliana Appiah appreciated the gesture and called on the general public to replicate the gesture to enable the female inmates have a meaningful life even as they serve their prison term.

The president of New Breed Women-Ghana, Helena Yaa Nkrumah, In her speech,assured the prison officers that this exercise would not be the end, and the group would make such donations part of their activities. http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

The group had the opportunity to fellowship with the inmates as a means of reconnecting to the almighty under whose power all things are made.

The visit and its impact was felt as it left smiles on the faces of the female inmates of the Nsawam prisons.
