The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Jonson Asiedu Nketia has hinted that the party is gearing up for court to challenge the presidential results that declared Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo a winner.
According to him, they have enough evidence to show that the results as pronounced by Mrs. Jean Mensah were fabricated to suit an already planned agenda between the Electoral Commission and the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
The NDC General Secretary in a press conference on Thursday, December 10 said while their original pink sheets show an NDC victory, the Akufo-Addo led government has commissioned some National Security operatives to manufacture fake ones to agree with the fabricated results as declared by the EC.
“We have all our pink sheets; I am told that National Security has been sent to manufacture pink sheets to suit the fake results declared by the EC.” Mr. Asiedu Nketia Said.
The NDC Chief Scribe explained that the electoral laws do not allow any party to proceed to court without exhausting all the internal dispute resolution mechanism as set-out by the Electoral Commission. He added that the party will surely resort to the judiciary if the EC fails to address their grievances.
The Electoral Commission had on Wednesday, December 9 declared the NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo as victor for the just ended polls. The NDC petitioned the elections management body on accounts of massive irregularities but same was not addressed.
In about 24 hours after declaring the results, the EC had issued a statement admitting arithmetic errors. A situation, Mr. Asiedu Nketia described as unprecedented in the in the electoral history of the country.
