NDC opts out of Abetifi by-election

The Director of Elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, says the party is opting out of the July 19th Abetifi by-election because it is preparing earnestly for the general election.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo debunked claims that its decision is borne out of the fear of losing to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since it is the party’s strong hold.

He said the NDC is rather channeling its resources for the November polls.

The Abetifi by-election has been necessitated by the death of the MP for the area, Wiafe Prepra.
