NDC Delegation Returns From Socialist International Conference

The high-powered delegation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which was led by General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, to attend an annual gathering of the Council of Socialist International (SI), has returned to Ghana.

Among other issues discussed, the Council focused on two main themes:
1. “Strengthening the political and humanitarian response to international crises,”
2. “Defending and securing democracy: supporting the struggle for rights and freedom where they are under threat ”

The Council Meeting took place in Geneva from July 01, 2016 to July 03, 2016.

The delegation, which was led by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the NDC, included Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Vice Chairman/Director of Elections, Mary Awusi, Parliamentary Candidate for Asante Akyem North, and Dr. Karl Max Arhin, Deputy Director of International Relations.

Some of the member parties of the SI Forum that participated in the Council Meeting , include, the, ANC of South Africa, CPC of China, the CPC of Cuba, FRELIMO of Mozambique, SWAPO of Namibia, Labour Party of UK, SDP of Denmark, SDP of Germany , SPSOA of Spain, and the governing Social Democratic Party of France.
