NDC declares Edem Agbana winner of Ketu North parliamentary primaries

16th May 2023

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared Edem Agbana as the winner of the party’s parliamentary primaries in Ketu North constituency in the Volta Region.

This was announced by the General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey today, Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

There was confusion after Saturday’s primaries between the two main contenders –Edem Agbana and John Adanu Zewu– following a tie.

Edem Agbana, a former Deputy National Youth Organiser of the party had the highest votes of 360 votes with John Adanu Zewu polling 359.

But Zewu called for a recount and there was a tie thereafter.

Edem in an earlier statement insisted that he was the winner though the electoral management body Electoral Commission (EC) had not declared so.
