A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo says members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are always throwing punches at the leader of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because they cannot stand the “competent leadership skills he keeps portraying”.
He believes the Mahama government is desperate to convince Ghanaians that it is working hard to deliver on its mandate “despite their obvious failure,” and are thus “trying hard to make the NPP flagbearer unattractive to the electorate because they are scared of him (Nana Addo) and his capabilities when he becomes the president of the nation”.
“This government is acting quite desperately to prove to Ghanaians that they have done something, but seriously they have done nothing. They are trying all they can to disgrace Nana Addo to the people of Ghana because they are scared of our courageous man” he stated in an interview.
Anthony Karbo’s reaction comes on the back of claims made by the National Organiser of the ruling NDC, Kofi Adams that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who he describes as a “dead okro”, cannot be trusted with the destiny of the country.
“When I say President Mahama is a fresh okro and Akufo-Addo is a failed dead okro, I will tell you why; even President Kufuor himself who knew the people he was working with never supported Akufo-Addo in 2007, he never did…It will be a monumental mistake to entrust the destiny of this country into Akufo-Addo’s hands,” Adams said while addressing supporters of the NDC in Tamale in the Northern region.
But Anthony Karbo, who is also the NPP candidate for Lawra constituency, has dismissed the claim, indicating that Ghana needs a leader who will be able to deal with corruption and prosecute government officials who are found culpable.
“NDC can go ahead and insult Nana Addo because he will never stop exposing them and their corrupt practices. God will judge them” he insisted.
