Nana Addo embarking on ‘one campaign, one London’ – Asiedu Nketia

The NDC General Secretary explained that Nana Addo is currently based in London and only returns to Ghana periodically to hold rallies when he hears the NDC is doing same

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has described the campaign style of the Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as “one campaign, one London”.

The General Secretary often referred to as General Mosquito was speaking at the campaign launch of the NDC’s parliamentary candidate in the Adentan constituency, Mohammed Adamu Ramadan.

He said Nana Addo is currently based in London and only returns to Ghana periodically to hold rallies when he hears the NDC is doing same.

“The NPP has a visiting Flagbearer who is in London. When he hears that we [NDC] are having a rally at Asawase, he takes an aeroplane and comes to hold a similar one and then leaves. When he hears that we are [NDC] having a rally in Accra, then he comes and holds one in the same area and then leaves. Can we govern this country with work and go politics?” he asked.

Asiedu Nketia rather called on the wife of Nana Addo, to emulate Nigeria’s first lady Aisha Buhari by advising her husband to step down.

“The NPP says 72 years is good. Nigeria has voted so we can also vote. Rebecca Akufo Addo needs to heed to Buhari’s wife’s advice and advise her husband, Akufo Addo accordingly. She [Rebecca] should tell Nana Addo that he is too old and cannot govern the nation like how President Mahama is governing the nation.”

Nana Akufo-Addo has travelled outside Ghana several times this year. Recently after a rally in Sowutuom in the Greater Accra region Nana Addo left Ghana for Europe – specifically Germany and the United Kingdom.

He left on Thursday October 13, 2016 and returned on Tuesday October 18, 2016.
