Nana Addo did not win by 1.5m margin – EC official results

The latest results of the December 2016 presidential elections show that President Akufo-Addo won the elections by a margin of 984,570 votes.

This is according to official results available to the Daily Dispatch newspaper.
On December 9, 2016 the Electoral Commission Chairperson Charlotte Osei announced that Nana Addo polled 5, 716,026 million votes representing 53.85% to beat the incumbent president John Dramani Mahama who had 4, 713,277 million votes representing 44.40 %.

This was results from 271 constituencies out of the 275 constituencies in the country.
But the results available from all 275 constituencies show that President Nana Akufo-Addo polled 5,755,758 representing 53.72% and former president John Dramani Mahama polled 4,771,188 representing 44.53%.

Per the results available, the total valid votes stand at 10, 713,734 while rejected ballots were 167,349, making the total votes cast 10,881,083.

Nana Akufo-Addo (NPP) – 5,755,758 representing 53.72%
John Dramani Mahama (NDC) – 4,771,188 representing 44.53%
Papa Kwesi Nduom (PPP) – 106,092 representing 0.99%
Ivor Kobina Greenstreet (CPP) – 25,552 representing 0.24%
Edward Mahama (PNC) – 22,298 representing 0.21%
Nana Konadu Rawlings (NDP) – 16,935 representing 0.16%
Jacob Osei Yeboah (IND) – 15, 911 representing 0.15%
