Minority urged to query Otiko Djaba over “Naabu goat bribery” saga

Former Member of Parliament for the Nanton constituency, Murtala Mohammed is calling on the Minority in Parliament to question the Gender Minister, Otiko Afisah Djaba to respond to bribery allegations against Chairman Bugri Naabu.

According to Comrade Murtala, the allegations made by the Gender Minister that the Northern regional Chairman of the NPP, Bugri Naabu “collected people’s monies, goats, cow among other goodies,” confirms the bribery charge against some appointees of President Akufo-Addo.

There is an ongoing feud between the Gender Minister and Bugri Naabu over a meeting organized by Otiko Djaba last week.

Mr. Naabu described the meeting, which was allegedly organized to recruit caterers for the School Feeding Program in the region, as illegal leading to the invasion of the meeting by some angry youth.

The minister responded by accusing the Chairman of accepting goats and other goodies from people and promising them appointments.

Commenting on this development on the Gold Power Drive with Samuel Eshun Monday, Murtala Mohammed, who was also the former Deputy Trade Minister in the Mahama administration noted that “this exposé brings to question all the appointment done by President Nana Addo. He said it was relevant for the Minority to find out how many of Akufo-Addo’s appointees bought their way through bribe.”

He further indicated that the accusation affirms what some Minority Members talked about with regards to the attempted bribe by the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko to the Appointment committee.
