Minority to explore all constitutional avenues on ford gift case

The Minority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu says his side will explore all constitutional means to get to the bottom of the donation of a Ford expedition vehicle to the President.

At a news conference in Parliament, he said what they sort to do was for Parliament to utilize its oversight powers to delve into the issue.

He said the purpose of the motion was meant to establish truthfulness and deepen democratic governance. But in the light of the decision of the Speaker not to admit the motion, the minority will explore other alternatives.

Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu further indicated that while they respected the work of CHRAJ, the minority did not find it expedient to submit an arm of government to a constitutional body.
