Hon Abla Dzifa Gomashie Ask mothers to invest in children education

Accra, May 10, GNA – Ms Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Creative Arts, has appealed to parents, especially mothers to invest in their children’s education to enable them develop themselves.

Ms Gomashie told the GNA in an interview during the celebration of Mother’s Day at the St Peter’s Catholic in Accra that investment in education helps to boost children’s intellect and make them useful citizens in the future.

Mother’s Day is celebrated to honour motherhood on the second Sunday of May every year globally.

  • She said it is important that mothers direct and train their children to become responsible adults to contribute to the country’s development.

    Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, NDC parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle constituency, speaking on the topic “The Role and Significance of the African woman” said it is important to remember the value of mothers in the development of the economy.

    She urged mothers to take their roles in the society very crucial and teach their children to become law-abiding citizens.

    She said mothers should not get lost in the whole modernisation process to ignore their duties and responsibilities to the society.
