Mahama Has Extraordinary Leadership Qualities – Spio Garbrah

Former Trade Minister Dr. Ekow Spio Garbrah has praised former President John Dramani Mahama as an individual with what he describes as extra ordinary leadership qualities.

Speaking to Jesse Agyapong on the Morning Xpress, Radio XYZ’s Breakfast Show, Dr. Spio Garbrah who is tipped as one of the potential Presidential candidates of the opposition NDC said posterity will judge the former President who lost his second term bid in the 2016 elections.

“Mahama has extraordinary leadership skills, very quiet and not extravagant in his dealings. Mahama really had his hands on top of every subject matter. He is a student of history and used that to his strength and was very good at extempore”.

The former Trade Minister who was virtually silent on his presidential ambitions showered praises on his former boss.

“Mahama was good at bringing people together”. There are speculations, the former President, who many see as the most marketable candidate for the NDC will face stiff opposition from other interested parties.

Names that have come up so far include the former Trade Minister, Dr Ekwaw Spio garbrah who is once contested the slot with late President John Evans Atta Mills, Former majority Leader, Alban Bagbin, current Minority Leader and MP for Tamale South, former Joshua Alabi former Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies and former NHIS boss, Sylvester Mensah,

Former President Mahama is yet to declare his intentions whether or not to contest the 2020 flag bearer race of the NDC. The party is awaiting a committee chaired by former Finance Minister, Dr Kwesi Botwe to present its report on findings into why the NDC lost the 2016 elections .

The party has within 2 years to elect a flagbearer that will lead the party in the 2020 elections.
