Mahama Ayariga dares critics to go to court

The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga has said he is ready to testify in court if the Energy Minister or any other citizen of the country wishes to probe his bribery allegation further in court.

“The Attorney General, too, if she hears it on radio, and I believe she has heard it…she too she can take action. You too, you the one sitting on the radio station, the law also provides that if you suspect that an offence has been committed you can take action… I’m there, I said I’m willing to testify so if you go [to court] and I’m called and subpoenaed to witness, won’t I come and tell what I know? So all of us as citizens have a responsibility,” he said on Accra-based Joy FM.

Mahama Ayariga had earlier indicated on Accra-based Radio Gold that Mr Agyarko sent money to the minority side in an attempt to influence them.
The NDC Member of Parliament said they (the minority) received the money thinking it was sitting allowance for being part of the Appointments Committee only to be told it was coming from the minister designate.
He said they rejected the money and asked that the money be returned to him.

The Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Mr Osei Owusu and the Energy Minister have denied the claims. The two have since considered taking legal action against Mr Ayariga.
But the Bawku Central MP said he is unperturbed and would be ready to defend himself any court.
