Leslie Mensah Tamakloe likely to be John Mahama’s running mate?

Former President John Mahama is set to select a running mate for the 2020 elections anytime soon to partner him to contest the 2020 elections.

Among the potential running mates for Mahama include a former Bank of Ghana Deputy Governor, Dr. Johnson Asiama, Dr. Kwesi Botchwey, Hannah Tetteh, a former Foreign Minister now U.N top Diplomat, Marrietta Brew Appiah Oppong, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and Education Minister under the John Mahama administration and the former Ghana’s Agriculture Minister and High Commissioner to South Africa, Kwesi Ahwoi,

Others are Kwabena Duffuor , current NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Kwadwo Nketia popularly known as General Mosquito, Alexander Kofi Mensah Mould, Seth Emmanuel Terkper, Bernard Avle of Citi FM/ Citi TV, Joshua Alabi, Goosie Tanoh, Spio Grabrah and Sylvester Mensah.

The rest are Mr. Julius Debrah, a former Minister and the immediate-past Chief of Staff and Dr Kwesi Botchwey who was Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission under Mahama and Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, MP and daughter of the Rawlingses.

Deep throat sources in the party have, however, mentioned lately that 62-year-old, Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe, an accomplished entrepreneur and Consultant in the ICT, Energy and National Infrastructure Development in Ghana and abroad has come up for consideration  by the NDC’s flagbearer as his  lieutenant.

The NDC following have welcomed the news of Mr. Tamakloe emerging Mr. Mahama’s deputy  for the 2020 showdown in December.

While some say a Mahama-Tamakloe ticket is a good move, others have described Mr. Tamakloe as a gentleman and that it will be fine it he gets the nod.

The Founder and leader of Accra-based Hezekiah Apostolic Prayer Ministry, Apostle Kwabena Owusu Adjei has prophesied that God has chosen Tamakloe to partner Mahama to annex power at the next elections.

According to him, Mr. Leslie Mensah Tamakloe has the full backing of Volta region and that the flagbearer of NDC, John Dramani Mahama only has to make Tamakloe’s choice official and thus put the NDC in full gear to clinch victory in the 2020 Election.

The man of God has affirmed that the proposed running mate would garner a crucial 21.9% to add to the 33% and give the NDC 54.9% to make victory possible in 2020.

Mr. Tamakloe with a keen business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit with over 30 years working experience in related endeavors, is a key Science and Technology Enthusiast with interests in Computers, Renewable Energy, Robotics and AI, Rockets and Space Travel among others.

He is a serial entrepreneur, with Five Limited Liability Company setups both in Ghana, UK and Japan. He is the Founder and Chairman, Electromod Co Ltd. A company focused on ICT, Power Systems and Renewable Energy as well as the Founder and Chairman; Internet GHANA Co Ltd, an Internet Service Provider

Mr. Tamakloe is the Co-Founder; Ghana Japan Oil Co. Ltd, Japan, a Japanese Oil and Gas Company with additional business interest in National Infrastructural Development in Ghana and Africa.

He holds an Executive MBA, Entrepreneurial Management from University of Ghana Business School, University of Ghana, Accra (2007 – 2008) and a PG Dip. Architecture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (1980 – 1983) and BSc. Environmental Design from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (1977 – 1980).

He served as the Board Chairman, Board of Directors, Metro Mass Transit Ltd Key Initiatives at Board Level in 2015.

He was the Technical Consultant at the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) in 2010.

From 2011 – 2014, Mr. Tamakloe served as a consultant to Ghana Japan Oil for the development of a varied set of key National Strategic Infrastructure for Ghana and worked with Directors of GJO and Consultancy Firm Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) during which same period he was a World Bank ICT Consultant as a well as a consultant to the US$15 million Health Insurance Project (HIP), National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

Key achievements chalked by Mr. Tamakloe at the NHIA include the Professional implementation of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) integrated Electronic Claims Management (eClaims) under the HIP.
