The Editor -In -Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako, has disassociated his newspaper from claims by Joy FMs Evans Mensah that Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi in a statement to the Criminal Investigations Department, CID, of the Ghana Police disclosed that an amount of $8million was given to Mr Mahama and the NDC prior to the 2016 election in Ghana.
Reacting to a Facebook post linking him and his paper to the story, the ace journalist stated categorically that his paper was not interested in such fake stories and “has not done any such story”. Meanwhile the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr Kofi Adams who was the campaign coordinator of the NDC in the 2016 election has denied the story in a statement he issued on behalf of the party.
He cautioned the general public not to patronize such fake stories by Joy FM and other pro Npp news outlets to confuse the unsuspecting public. The party’s leadership is in contact with relevant agencies for a comprehensive investigation to unravel those behind that criminal act.
Dr Festus Asiedu Afram a renowned journalists, has condemned Evans Mensah’s conduct describing it as bad journalism. “Even worse, the manner in which this kind of journalism is conduct leaves a lot to be desired let alone the content which is often brutal, vulgar, vicious, humiliating that has become a hallmark of Joy FM a once respected media platform” said the lecturer. He advised executives of Ghana Journalists Association and the media commission to do something about the canker before it creates tension in the country. He said Bad journalists can best be compared to the foul mouthed pigs in raincoats in which they are seen carrying notepads, turning over unsuspecting victims while cowardly sucking up to their equally vulgar editor bosses bullying clients.
