Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has lashed out critics, especially from the opposition NDC, who say President Akufo-Addo has achieved nothing after 100 days in office.
Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings says the national economy has virtually been destroyed in the 8 year administration of the NDC and it won’t take a new government only 100 days to turn the situation around
Speaking on JOY FM’s Personality Profile, the founder and flag bearer of the National Democratic Party Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings, expressed delight the Mahama administration and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were voted out of office.
“I am happy there is a change… I am very happy…because you can’t have a situation where we claim to be doing well, calling ourselves lower-middle income group, and in a miserable situation,” she said.
She continued that during the 2016 electioneering process, “I went round the country and I saw poverty staring at me. The likes of poverty that I hadn’t seen since 1982(3) and it gripped my heart and touched every part of my body that this has to change.”
Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings said she left the NDC, because “… I am somebody who believes in honesty and hard work. As things started changing I advised myself, we reached that level where the respect for the founder was not there”.
She called on the critics of government to give Nana Akufo-Addo time to fix the country.
