Kasoa Teenage Murderers officially charged

The two teenagers accused of murdering a 10-year-old boy at Coca Cola near Lamptey in Kasoa in the Central Region have officially been charged with murder.
The two, Felix Nyarko and Nicholas Kini aged 16 and 18 years were charged with murder and remanded into Police custody for two weeks when they appeared before the Ofaakor District Court on Tuesday.

Presenting the facts of the case, D/C/Inspector Japhet Agyeman said the two and the deceased were neighbours but killed him for money rituals.
The father of the deceased, Mr Abdallah Mensah, the Prosecutor complained to the Police that the accused persons had killed his son for money rituals leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The accused confessed that they had intended to kidnap the deceased, Ishmael Mensah and demand a ransom of GHC 5,000 which they claimed a ritualist they contacted in the Volta Region for money rituals had claimed will be enough to make them rich.

The first accused person, who is closer to the deceased, lured him into an uncompleted building where he was hit with a stick at the back of the neck making him fall unconscious.
The second accused person, the Police charge sheet continued, also hit the deceased with a cement block. However, a sister of the 1st accused person, who is eight years after sensing danger approached the scene and reported to the step-father of the 1st accused.

Mr Nyarko, the step-father of the 1st accused after confronting him in the building confessed the crime leading the father to exhume the freshly buried body of Ishmael from the uncompleted building.
