Judicial corruption : CID to interrogate 2 more judges today

Two High Court justices, implicated in the recent corruption scandal will today appear before the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning.

The two, whose names have been withheld, will appear before the CID with their lawyers to answer questions on the video that captured them allegedly taking bribes.The two are among the seven justices who were recently suspended by the Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.

Yesterday, two other judges also appeared before the CID for questioning.

The Head of Public Relations at the CID, ASP Benefo Darkwa told Citi News about 100 judicial staff will also be interrogated.

The CID is expected interrogate Justices John Ajet-Nasam, Paul Uuter Dery, Charles Quist, Kofi Essel-Mensah, Mustapha Habib Logoh, Ernest Obimpeh, and Ayisi Addo.

 

The rest are Francis K. Opoku, Kwame Ohene-Essel, Ivy Heward-Mills and Asmah Akwasi Asiedu as well as Justices Yaw Ansu-Gyeabour and Mohammed Ahmed Mustapha who are both on retirement.

Meanwhile the committee set up  by the Chief Justice to investigate allegations of corruption against some staff of the judicial service has began sitting.
