John Mahama’s convoy was not stoned – Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper Kwesi Pratt Jnr has debunked claims that the President’s convoy was stoned during his ‘Accounting to the People tour’ of the Ashanti region.

Media reports on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 indicated that Mahama’s convoy was hooted at and pelted with stones during his tour of the region.

Two residents of Kumasi in the region were reportedly arrested for pelting the president’s convoy with stones.

The suspects arrested were allegedly among a group of residents who were hooting at the president.

The incident reportedly took place at Ejisu, where the president visited Wednesday afternoon.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

But Kwesi Pratt Jnr. who believes the reports are untrue and inaccurate said some detractors are spreading the false allegations just to make the president unpopular in the region.

“I can tell you on authority that the president’s convoy was not stoned. His (Mahama) convoy was not stoned and so it is important to stop spreading falsehood just to make him unpopular in the Ashanti region” he stressed on Accra based Radio Gold’s programme ‘Alhaji Alhaji’ Saturday.
