As part of Mr Mahama’s duties, he participated in discussions to review preparations towards the elections.
At the meeting were Nigeria’s Goodluck Jonathan, South Africa’s Kgalema Mothlante and Liberia’s Amos Sawyerr.
While Dr Jonathan is leading the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) observer mission, Mr Mothlante and Mr Sawyerr are leading the African Union (AU) and ECOWAS missions respectively.
The meeting according to Mr Mahama, “reviewed and discussed the security situation, preparations by the National Electoral Commission, concerns raised by the various political parties and their candidates and the issue of a ban on vehicular movement across the country on Sierra Leone.”
