INVESTIGATE BOST SCANDAL- DR STEVE MANTEAW

The Executive Director of ISODEC, Dr Steve Manteau has called on EOCO and other investigative bodies to investigate the allegation levelled against the Boss of Bost Mr Alfred Obeng by Mr Duncan Amoah.

Speaking on a popular Accra- based Radio Station Neat FM, he said Mr Duncan Amoah’s claim that Ghana lost about Ghc 23 million in revenue when 1.8 million barrels of crude oil was sold at a discount to an unlicensed company is should not be treated the same way the controversial sale of five million litres of off-spec fuel by the managing director of BOST, Mr Alfred Obeng, was handled by government. According to him any back-room meddling in the matter would undermine the President’s anti-corruption mantra.

President Akufo-Addo is yet to clear the air about grievous allegations of abuse of contract process to of billions of cedis at BOST and other state institutions involving appointees of his administration. Mr Alfred Obeng is alleged to have circumvented extant procurement regulations in awarding a series of contracts up to millions of dollars.

Last year, Ghana allegedly lost about Ghc7 million in revenue following Mr Alfred Obeng’s decision to sell contaminated fuel to some unlicensed oil marketing companies. Documents showed that BOST agreed to sell about GHc5 million litres of the contaminated fuel to Movenpinna Energy. The President cleared Mr Obeng who was one of his financiers based on a bed-room prepared report by the BNI and the National Security.
