I’ll serve with my soul – Mahama pledges on 57th birthday

Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama turns 57 today, November 29, 2015 and has promised to serve with his “heart and soul.”

“So soon another year of my life has passed,” Mahama said in a Facebook post as he attends the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Malta.

“I took an oath to dedicate myself to the service and well-being of the people of Ghana, and I stand firmly by that oath. I am humbled by your support, and I thank you all for your kind wishes.
I will continue to serve all of you with all my heart and soul! May God bless you all! May God bless our homeland Ghana!”

Mahama became president of Ghana in 2012 when he beat opposition leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He was born on 29 November 1958.

Some Ghanaian celebrities have taken to microblogging network – Twitter – to wish the president a happy birthday.
