I’ll deal with both NDC & NPP thieves who steal the people’s money | Mahama warns: ‘Don’t call me when the law grabs you’

10th May 2023

Former President John Mahama has declared zero-tolerance for corruption should he become the next president after the December 2024 polls.

According to him, his next administration will create an enabling environment for corruption-fighting to thrive.

He has warned that there would be no mercy for corrupt people across the political aisle.

Speaking to delegates at Lambussie in the Upper West Region, Mr Mahama, who is seeking to become the flag bearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, said: “It doesn’t matter whether you belong to our government or past governments, if you steal the people’s money we will deal with you”.

“If elected as president, I will allow anti-corruption institutions to work”, he promised, warning: “Nobody should come and call me to save them when they catch you.”

“Any person, whether in my government or outside my government or in the previous NPP government, if the anti-corruption institutions are dealing with you, that is your business because we must save this country”, the former president said.
