IGP, Interior minister should resign over Delta force attacks- Asiedu Nketia

The general secretary of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] Asiedu Nketia has called on the Inspector General of Police [IGP], the Interior Minister and the Police Commander in the Ashanti region to resign over the recent attack on a Circuit Court in the Ashanti region by the pro New Patriotic Party vigilante group Delta force.

Speaking to Radio Ghana the general secretary believes this action undermines the democracy of the country.
He further called for the arrest of the lawmaker for Assin North Kennedy Agyapong who according to him has said stated on television that he is the financier of the vigilante group Delta force.

“He has self-confess sponsoring a terrorist group and you know what happens to people who are sponsoring this type of groups, talking about Delta force, Invisible force, the NPP has this grouping in every region and so we are beginning to walk on the path of terror that’s why I think that terror is like, when it begins you deal with it swiftly otherwise if it goes a little beyond a certain point you can only begin to negotiate with them so this a serious issue, out of democracy where it ought to be rule of law I shouldn’t be lecturing people like His Excellency the president about the importance of law in a democracy.”
