IEA Encounter With Akufo-Addo Postponed Again

The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Evening Encounter with the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been postponed for the second time.

In a statement ghanapoliticsonline.com has laid its hands on, the IEA apologized to the general public and all invited guests that the evening encounter with nana addo scheduled for 9th August, 2016 has been postponed until further notice though no reasons were assigned.

The presidential candidates of the People’s National Congress (PNC) and the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Dr. Edward Mahama and Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, have already taken their turn on the platform.

Two major political parties, the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom led People’s Progressive Party (PPP), however boycotted the encounters.

According to the two, this is because the IEA failed to adequately engage them in the their plans for the debate series and evening encounters ahead of the December polls.

The IEA Evening Encounter series is a platform designed for political parties and their Flagbearers to interact with a cross-section of Ghanaians through Civil Society and other interest-group representation ahead of the general elections.
