I swear God, I will give you a showdown’ – Kennedy Agyapong threatens Bawumia, Akufo-Addo

Presidential candidate aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hon Kennedy Agyapong has threatened to challenge President Akufo–Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over reports one of his agents was chased away from a polling center.

In a video that has gone viral, the Assin Central MP was heard saying, “I swear to God, President Akufo–Addo, I will give you a show down, Vice President I’ll give you showdown for chasing my agent out to run into a room. You will see what will happen here. Yes, I swear on God, I will challenge President Akufo-Addo anytime”.

The viral video in which the MP was seen speaking on the phone is believed to have been recorded in the Central Region where he cast his vote in the ongoing election earlier this morning.

We have Mr Kennedy Agyapong was speaking to on the phone but it is a bit obvious he may be talking to either his coordinator or a member of his campaign.

The elections are being held concurrently in all 16 regions and the NPP National Headquarters in Accra with 965 super delegates expected to vote in the ongoing elections.

In the end 5 of the contenders who will garner the maximum number of votes will go on to contest the party’s primaries in November, where they will compete to become the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 general election.

The 10 presidential aspirants going into this contest are former Trades Minister Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, Former Agriculture Minister, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former party General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Kwadwo Poku, an energy expert, Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, Joe Ghartey, former Railways Minister, Boakye Agyarko, former Energy Minister, Kofi Konadu Apraku, former Trade Minister Francis Addai Nimoh, former Member of Parliament for Mampong and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, current Vice President who is considered the favorite to win the over-all elections in November.
