I am NPP’s ‘mosquito repellant’ , Ready to face General Mosquito-Nana Obiri Boahen

There was an interesting exchange between the General Secretary of the National Democratic (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia and the Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen .

Mr Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito was, in a telephone interview on the show, explaining a press statement he had released calling on the President, Nana Akufo-Addo to disband the NPP’s vigilante group, Invincible Forces which has been accused of perpetrating some attacks on NDC members after the change of government.

But immediately he was made aware that Mr Obiri Boahen was on another line to respond to his statement, General Mosquito declined to continue the interview and cut the line.

“Who is that Deputy General Secretary, Obiri Boahen? Me, I’m on another station . I don’t want to be debating such a person. Please I’m sorry. I just got out of Asempa platform because of the way he was misconducting himself so if you want to speak to him, you can just take your interview and let me serve the others”, he said before hanging up the call.

Mr Obiri Boahen on the other said: “Where is Asiedu Nketia now? Is he not prepared to engage me in any discussion? Then I will chase him, I will continue to pursue to wherever he goes. If he is the mosquito which he has been referring to himself, I am a mosquito

“Where is Asiedu Nketia now? Is he not prepared to engage me in any discussion? Then I will chase him, I will continue to pursue to wherever he goes. If he is the mosquito which he has been referring to himself, I am a mosquito repellant. I am a mosquito coil. If he refers to himself as mosquito, I also refer to myself as a mosquito repellant. For far too long we are fed up with them”.

On the substantive matter of disbanding the Invincible Forces, Mr Obiri Boahen stated that the NPP was not going to disband the group because they did not seek permission from the NDC before they formed the group.

“When Invincible Force was being formed, did we go to Asiedu Nketia for persmission to do so?”, he retorted.
