The story on 300 Ghanaians awaiting execution in Libya is not true. Even though we have closed our mission in Libya, and have moved to Malta we still have local staff who are taking care of our properties.

We had them, together with the Chairman/ President of the Ghana Association in Libya check the detention facilities and the courts for any cases pending against any Ghanaians. There are four Ghanaians awaiting deportation.

Indeed to the best of our information so far there are no cases pending against 300 Ghanaian citizens.
