The Ministry of Health (MoH) is to recruit 5,000 more nurses across the country before the close of the year, so far, more than 7,000 nurses have been engaged since the beginning of the year.
The Director of Human Resource at the MoH, Mr. Lawoetey Tetteh, who disclosed this in Tamale, said the rationale was to improve healthcare delivery services in the country.
He was speaking at the presentation and dissemination of the revised Community- Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) policy in Tamale in the Northern Region yesterday.
The dissemination forum, which brought stakeholders together, was on the theme: “Accelerating attainment of universal health coverage and bridging the access inequity gap”.
The revised CHPS policy seeks to improve healthcare delivery at the community level.
