Govt promises one district one Melcom (Video)

The Deputy Minister for Trade, Robert Ahomka-Lindsey has proposed the need for every district to have one Melcom shopping center to boost domestic retail trade in order to provide world class services in every nook and cranny.

He said this at the ceremony to officially commission the new Achimota branch of Melcom in Accra.

The Deputy Trade Minister indicated that one of the pillars of government on job creation is to provide the atmosphere for domestic retail trade to thrive and grow in the country.

He added that companies that wish to grow and become more viable must constantly upgrade their physical infrastructure that guarantees safety and comfort.

“We need to replicate this in every part of our market in every district. There must be one Melcom shopping center in every district,” he stated.

According to him, over 75percent of our purchases is impulse buying mostly driven by pleasant environment and reasonable prices.
