GOVT GIVES 4,490 LAPTOPS TO ICT TEACHERS IN GREATER ACCRA REGION

In line with NDC 2012 manifesto promise to accelerate ICT education by training more teachers in the subject area and free supply of laptops. Page 17

Government through the Ministry of Education has presented 4,490 laptops to the Greater Accra Regional Director of Education, Dr Peter Atefuah, for onward presentation to Information and Communications Technology (ICT) teachers in the region.

The laptops are loaded with content, including syllabus, curriculum, among others.

The Deputy Minister in charge of Pre-tertiary Education, Mr Alex Kyeremeh, who made the presentation, explained that 370 laptops out of the total number would be given to ICT teachers who also teach Mathematics and Science.

He said the presentation was part of the school computer programme by the government, with some teachers having been trained in how to use the computers.

Mr Kyeremeh explained that other regional directors had already received the computers for teachers in their regions.
