Government To Create 5,000 Jobs In Textile Industry

Government is to create five thousand jobs in the textile and apparel sectors by the close of 2016.

What will pave the way is a tripartite agreement between Ghana, the US Government and the Dignity DRTR Company.

Announcing the move in Accra, Employment and Labour Relations Minister, Haruna Iddrisu said government identifies the textile sector as a spear head for job creation.

This is why the Youth Employment Bill passed currently recognises a new module in the apparel and textile sectors.

Mr. Iddrisu added that two thousand Youth Employment Agency interns out of the five thousand targeted are the first to be rolled out with a sixteen million cedi start up investment.
