Government pays $13,000 to Black Queens

The government of Ghana has settled part of the monies owed the Black Queens as winning bonuses and allowances.l

The Black Queens were owed $25,000 as accumulation of winning bonuses and allowances for their participation in competitions back in 2015.

And after several disappointments by the Sports Ministry and the government, the playing of the women’s senior female national football team took to the streets of Accra in late December to demonstrate over the failure of government clear the arrears.

However, Elizabeth Addo, the skipper of the Black Queens team that finished third in the 2016 African Women’s Championship in Cameroon has revealed to Nhyira FM that $13,000 of the monies owed them has been paid.
Meanwhile, the two other national teams, namely, the Black Maidens and the Black Princesses are looking forward to see government pay their arrears for participating in qualifiers and FIFA World Cups at the U-17 and U-20 levels.
