Glamour and Excellence Converge at GUBA Awards 2023 in London

The Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London was the place to be as the Grow, Unite, Build Africa (GUBA) Awards returned to the UK for a glittering celebration of Africa and the African diaspora. Under the theme of ‘Honouring Beacons of Excellence and Inspiration,’ this remarkable event paid tribute to outstanding individuals who have left an indelible mark on the global African diaspora.

The GUBA Awards, now in their 14th year, continued their tradition of recognizing the achievements and contributions of the African diaspora. Founded in 2009 by Lady Dentaa Amoateng, MBE, the awards have evolved into a prominent platform celebrating excellence and inspiration.

The hosting duties for this year’s ceremony were skillfully handled by TV presenter Paul Brunson, renowned for his role on Channel 4, and Anita Erskine, a prominent Ghanaian media personality, entrepreneur, and advocate.

Reflecting on the growth and global reach of the GUBA Awards, Lady Dentaa expressed her pride, saying, “Over the past thirteen years, the GUBA Awards has grown immensely, expanding across three continents. It is extraordinary to be back in London and to celebrate these incredible winners who are truly inspirational individuals and role models – everything that the GUBA Awards celebrate.”

The 2023 GUBA Awards was an evening of inspiration, recognition, and celebration, showcasing the extraordinary achievements of individuals who have contributed to the growth and empowerment in the African Diaspora.
