Ghanapoliticsonline Polls Puts Mahama in a comfortable 54.4%; Akufo-Addo 42.1%

As the final whistle blows for the observation of December 7 general elections in Ghana, the Presidential candidate of the incumbent National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama is in pole position to win the 2016 election according to polls conducted by Ghana’s leading and most credible News portal, www.Ghanapoliticsonline.com.

According to Ghanapoliticsonline, they have conducted three different polls since July this year with latest one as recent as 1st December 2016 where in all the three different polls, John Dramani Mahama has been in the lead with a relatively huge gap between him and the opposition NPP’s twice defeated flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo.

According to the recent poll by the Ghanapoliticsonline, John Dramani Mahama accumulated a “comfortable” 54.4% which qualifies him to be the president-elect of Ghana according to the 1992 constitution of Ghana which state in article 63 clause 3 that “A person shall not be elected as President of Ghana unless at the presidential election the number of vote cast in his favour is more than fifty percent of the total number of valid votes cast at the election”.

Meanwhile the opposition New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer according to the recent poll accumulated 42.1%. The remaining 3.5%, according to the polls was shared among the remaining Political Parties.
