‘Ghana needs deliverance from hardships’

Nana Akufo-Addo has told the people of Shai Osudoku that Ghana needs deliverance from the hardships inflicted on them by the Mahama administration.

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) craved the indulgence of Nene Gmogmowuyea VI and called on the people of Shai Osudoku, in this election year, to take a careful look at their conditions of living and vote in a government whose priority will be to improve their livelihoods.

“It is clear that Ghana needs change from the severe economic hardships and rising cost of living she is facing under President Mahama’s government,” the three-time flagbearer said on Friday, February 5, 2016, when he joined the chiefs and people of the area to mourn the late Paramount Chief and President of the traditional area, Nene Klagbordjor V.

Mr Akufo-Addo assured the people that under an Akufo-Addo government, the country will be put back onto the path of progress and prosperity.

Accompanied by NPP stalwarts from the Greater Accra region, Nana Akufo-Addo, according to a statement from his office, was mobbed by thousands of residents as well as mourners, amidst chants of ‘w? ma cha ke mi’ – to wit: ‘We’ll change leadership’, as he made his way to the funeral grounds at Osuwem.

Paying tribute to the late Nene Klagbordjor V, who reigned for 70 years and died in 2014 at the age of 90, the NPP flagbearer, who spoke in Ga, noted that the death of the late Chief is a great loss, not only to the people of Shai Osudoku but to the nation, as he made significant contributions to the development of the nation.

According to Nana Akufo-Addo, the gathering of thousands of people from different walks of life, as well as from different political affiliations, point to a life well-lived by the late Nene Klagbordjor V.

Nana Akufo-Addo prayed for wisdom and good health for Nene Gmogmowuyea VI, the successor to the late Paramount Chief, and called on the people of Shai Osudoku to support their new Chief fully in the coming years.

On behalf of the NPP, a donation of GHc2,000 and bottles of schnapps was made towards the funeral.
