Ghana has one of its finest legal brains as a Chief Justice nominee – Nana Oye Lithur

In a Facebook post, a former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur described Justice Sophia Akuffo as disciplined.

Justice Sophia Akuffo is one of Ghana’s best legal brains.

This is according to a former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur.

In a Facebook post, Nana Oye said she and some other lawyers was trained by Justice Akuffo who they found as a disciplined lawyer.

Nana Oye added that under her tenure as Chairperson of the Civil Aviation Authority, “the airport saw massive transformation.”

She said even though there was an uproar when Justice Akuffo was appointed as Supreme Court Judge she has proved her detractors wrong.

“There was an uproar within the Ghana Bar Association about the President’s nomination.I distinctly remember the objection by the late ED Kom.You have proved them wrong.”

“You excelled at the Supreme Court and African Human Rights Court.”

President Nana Akufo-Addo announced the nomination of Justice Sophia Akuffo as the new Chief Justice after Georgina Theodora Woode proceeds on retirement in June 2017.
